Dieses Buch basiert auf meinen Erinnerungen. Es beinhaltet transkribierte Gespräche, die ich mit Menschen in der jüdisch-israelischen Bevölkerung während meines einjährigen Aufenthaltes im Jahr 2021-2022 und zu weiteren Besuchen in Israel geführt habe. Es ist eine Zusammenschrift aus persönlichen Momenten und Meinungen, die mein Bild zum Nahostkonflikt nachhaltig prägen. Zwischen den festgehaltenen Erinnerungen sind Zitate zu finden. Diese verdeutlichen für mich, dass es kein schwarz und weiß in diesem Konflikt gibt. Sie zeigen für mich die Intensität und Brutalität des Nahostkonflikts aus verschiedenen Blickwinkeln. Dennoch haben diese Texte keinen Anspruch auf eine voll umfassende Betrachtung der Situation. Die Handlungen oder Aussagen der erwähnten Personen sind im jeweiligen Kontext zu betrachten, welche ich keinesfalls verurteile. Ich bin dankbar für den Einblick in die israelische Bevölkerung, für das, was ich dort erleben durfte, für die intensiven Gespräche und für die wertvollen Freundschaften, die ich schließen konnte. Aufgrund der sehr persönlichen und intimen Inhalte der Gespräche habe ich die Namen der Personen geändert. Ein Blick durch meine Augen auf das Land und seine Menschen – between the river and the sea.

 

Between the river and the sea
This book is based on my memoirs. It contains transcribed conversations I had with people in the Jewish-Israeli community during my one-year stay in 2021-2022 and on other visits to Israel. It is a compilation of personal moments and opinions that have had a lasting impact on my view of the Middle East conflict.Between the recorded memories are quotes.These illustrate for me that there is no black and white in this conflict. For me, they show the intensity and brutality of the Middle East conflict from different perspectives. Nevertheless, these texts do not claim to be a fully comprehensive view of the situation. The actions or statements of the persons mentioned are to be considered in the respective context, which I do not condemn at all. I am grateful for the insight into the Israeli population, for what I was able to experience there, for the intensive conversations and for the valuable friendships I was able to make. Due to the very personal and intimate content of the conversations, I have changed the names of the people.A look through my eyes at the country and its people - between the river and the sea.
